Storage Tips

Riverside Storage

Self-storage made easy

We are dedicated to helping you make the self-storage process easier. Here are a few helpful tips to get you started. Don't forget to use space inside drawers and larger appliances, such as stoves and refrigerators, to store smaller items including towels, linens and toys. You should break down large items such as bed frames, tables and large furniture and keep all the parts, including screws, together by taping them. Be sure to wrap furniture legs in protective bubble wrap, covers or pads to prevent scratching. Label all boxes on the top and side to easily identify them.

White boxes

Fragile boxes should be placed on top of heavier items. Be sure not to over pack your boxes because they can become heavy and dangerous to lift. Place frequently accessed items toward the front of your unit so that you can easily get to them. Less used items should be placed in the back. Use packing tape to tightly seal boxes to keep dust from entering. Use furniture cover or moving pads to keep items off of the floor and protected.

Please leave a walkway down the center of the unit to make accessing items easier while storing business files. Don't store anything flammable, such as paint or other chemicals, as well as perishables. Drain any fluids prior to storing lawnmowers, snow blowers and other equipment and do not store hazardous or combustible materials. Purchase a secure, high quality lock to protect your items.
